BURGESS

The Residence is located on Burgess Crescent in Mississauga, Ontario, the closest main intersection is The Collegeway and Winston Churchill. There is a private fenced in yard with a deck.

There are three furnished common rooms, two kitchens and access to on-site laundry facilities on the main floor. Each bedroom has a secure door lock and comes fully furnished with a bed, dresser drawers, night table and lamps, computer desk, chair and book shelf and closet space. Most rooms have a private or semi-private bathroom and walk-in closets. Each room is assigned a name. The kitchen cupboards, refrigerator, freezer space and mailboxes are identified accordingly.

We ask students to respect the space and privacy of everyone else and to demonstrate a cooperative spirit whenever possible. Some housemates are on non-traditional schedules. This means everyone must conduct themselves respectfully and avoid making noise whenever possible. It is both fair and appropriate that things should be quiet after 11:00 p.m.

You will be given a secure access code to the residence. For safety reasons, this code is not to be given to anyone. To ensure the safety of our students and to preserve the academic integrity of the residence environment and the security of the building, no visitors are permitted except for parents.

Students accepted into Mississauga Student Residences agree to contribute to the regular maintenance of the residence: taking the garbage out and cleaning up after yourself.

Thanks again for your help today and over the years. I have dealt with many landladies and you have truly been the best! You are certainly one of a kind. - Rav

Yay! Thanks a bunch! You’re legit the best landlady I’ve ever had. – Tony

It’s been a great experience at the residence and I appreciate your commitment to making our stay here welcoming. Thanks so much. - Nathan

I lived at Mississauga Student Residences for 2 years and I have made lots of memories and friends at this Residence. I felt like it was my home away from home. The MSR team worked really hard to keep this place organized and clean which made me feel so relaxed and comfortable every time I stepped in to the Residence. I didn't leave this place empty handed, I made good friends and had great experiences. I would recommend this Residence and give a 5 star rating to it.

“I want to write a testimonial about Maureen as a landlady but that doesn't do her justice so I am going to tell my story instead. I was an international student at the University of Toronto who was new to Canada. I had moved into one of Maureen's Residences just two weeks after I immigrated to Canada. I was young, naive, nervous and home sick because I had moved from my home country at a really young age. Maureen realized this and took me under her wing in every sense of the phrase. She gave me a place to stay in her home, brought me into her family and provided me with guidance and support when I needed it. I lived with Maureen for just about 5 years and in that time had grown from that naive boy to a graduate and a new home owner. Maureen had a big role to play in that. Maureen is not just a great landlady she is an amazing person who continually does for others. We have kept in touch till today.  She is as I say to everyone my 'Canadian Mummy' “. – Jimi

“I stayed in a lot of places around the world and not many can I call home. Living with Maureen doesn’t merely feel like living in a home, but rather with a family. She is more than a landlady, but a friend and a family member. She takes great care of her students and does whatever is in her power to make them feel at home. Not only does she make the Residence a safe and a clean place, but a harmonious and joyful community as well.  The guys in the house are absolutely amazing. We have a lot of fun together from time to time. I’m having the best time ever and I’m loving this Residence!!!!” -  Peter

“I fully recommend the accommodations provided by Maureen! This will be my second year staying in the Burgess Residence and it is truly a home-away-from-home. Extremely well-maintained and modern housing, complete with weekly maid service means all I really need to do is clean up after myself. Maureen is extremely accommodating and easy to speak with about anything really. My only regret is not finding this Residence sooner! It is a gem in the world of student housing and made for an easy transition from leaving home. The Residence is conveniently located and close to everything I need. Although the day will eventually come, the only thing I'm not looking forward to is leaving”. -  Kris

“Maureen runs a tight ship. She is fair, responsive and always ready to help. I have been living in her Residence for some time now and have never had any issues with her or other housemates.  The number one reason for that is the diligent process through which Maureen scans all applicants for compatibility and “fit”.  Living in shared accommodations away from family is never easy; having a responsible landlady makes life much easier” - Muhammad
